To all Polyurethanes 2010 Technical Conference and UTECH Exhibition Attendees:

It has come to our attention that some of you may have received solicitation emails from companies encouraging you to book hotel reservations through them for the upcoming Polyurethanes Conference and the UTECH North America Exhibition. Please note that these emails are coming from unauthorized and unaffiliated housing providers. Any official conference correspondence will read CPI Conference or UTECH North America 2010.

Please note that unauthorized housing providers:
-Do not contract for room blocks. Therefore, they do not have a room block with Hilton Americas or any other hotel.
-Require full prepayment of your stay.
-Their advertised room rate is not a guaranteed rate.
-It’s difficult to make name changes or other adjustments to your reservation through a room broker.
-If the Hilton Americas determines a reservation has been made through an unauthorized provider, the reservation will be cancelled or the rate adjusted to match or exceed the group rate.

Below are reminders why it’s a benefit to book your room in the CPI/UTECH room block:
-Your reservation and rate is backed by CPI.
-By staying at the Hilton Americas you will maximize your networking opportunities, have ease of access to meeting rooms and save time and rental car/transportation costs not having to commute from other hotels.
-Support CPI and UTECH. Staying in the group room block helps the organization offset the costs of meeting space, food and beverage and many other expenses associated with the conference. Attendees who stay in other non-official hotels or outside the room block do not help offset these expenses. It also increases the organizations exposure to financial penalties for low sleeping room usage. Your assistance in helping CPI/UTECH in this regard, will in turn, help to keep its conference costs reasonable.
