ABB Analytical Measurement provides analysers, advanced process control, and data management solutions to the PU industry. The company will be showcasing new products in Houston, including its MB3600­CH20 FT­NIR Laboratory Method Development Analyser for polyols, ethoxy­lates, glycols, urethanes and related chemi­cals. ABB will also inform visitors about its range of custom calibration modelling serv­ices and application support services.

ADVANCED TESTING INSTRUMENTS CORP 314
Visitors to Advanced Testing Instruments Corp.’s stand at UTECH North America will be able to see live demonstrations of the company’s testing equipment for the PU industry. These include products to test foam compression, air permeability, and resilience. Other products on display from the Greer, South Carolina­based company include IFD testers and thickness testers.

ANYCASTING 608
AnyCasting Co. Ltd, Based in Seoul, Korea, will be presenting its AnyFoam commercial process simulation software for polyurethane at UTECH North America 2010. AnyFoam is used to predict fluid flow during injection and foam patterns, air pockets and density distribution during foaming.

A­GAS AMERICAS 216
A­Gas will be presenting its full range of foam blowing agents with particular focus on its cyclopentane products during this year’s event in Houston. The Doylestown, Pennsylvania­based company, which offers “flame retardants, polyols and isocyanates in certain markets,” will also be highlighting its geographical reach.

ARCH CHEMICALS 202
Arch Chemicals will be focusing on its new antimicrobial and urethane solutions in Houston. The Atlanta, Georgia­based com­pany will present its Zinc Omadine and Vanquish 100 Antimicrobial products for the PU industry.

Belgium­based Arpadis will be introducing itself as a raw material supplier to the US polyurethane industry at this year’s show in Houston. The company supplies iso­cyanates to a range of markets including furniture & bedding, systems houses, footwear, coatings, elastomers, adhesives & sealants and automotive industries.

AS ENTERPRISES 108
Heavy­duty foam­cutting machines will be the most important aspect of AS Enterprises’ exhibition stand this year. New products on display will include the compa­ny’s S Series of carousel foam cutting machines introduced in the last quarter of 2009, which includes an automatic grinding system, edge retention, and large touch panel operation. The company will also be showing batch type foaming machines, cus­tomised cutting lines and Max­type com­plete foaming lines.

BARMAG 609
Oerlikon Barmag will be exhibiting new developments and existing products and services in the gear pump segment. Barmag’s metering pump units are pre­dominantly used in the chemicals industry in areas requiring the metering of toxic or odorous fluids and so are suited for use in high­pressure machines for manufacturing PU moulded parts, foam slabs, refrigeration unit insulation and sandwich panels.

BAULÉ/SECMER 300
Baulé, a joint venture of Bayer MaterialScience and Michel Baulé SA, is a specialist in cast PU systems. At UTECH North America 2010 the company will be presenting its range of compact, universal and advanced PU processing machines, as well as its amine­cross­linked MDI (methyl­ene diphenyl diisocyanate) prepolymers and quasi­MDI­prepolymers. On the same stand, Secmer, which became part of Baulé in 2003, will be presenting its new range of low­pressure dispensing machines for CASE applications, PU foams and low tem­perature processing resins. Secmer will present both its Multicast and Dosamix machine series.

BAÜMER AMERICA 502
The Albrecht Baümer subsidiary will be showcasing its latest innovations in PU machinery in Houston. New products will include the OFS­H Twincut cutting machine, as well as the company’s storing and con­veying equipment for foam processing and software solutions and automation. Baümer will also highlight the benefits of its improved customer support service hotline.

BAYER MATERIALSCIENCE 507
At UTECH North America 2010, BMS will be focusing on current global megatrends and how polyurethane technology can address those trends. The company will also pres­ent its web­based BayCare Product Stewardship Program and will highlight its work in the wood binder market where MDI is being used to meet federal stan­dards in the production of particleboard and medium density fibreboard. During the CPI Technical Conference, BMS will present the papers: “Comparison of Gaseous and Liquid Low­GWP Blowing Agents with HFC 134a” and “HFC 245fa in Rigid Polyurethane Insulating Foams;” and: “A Proposed Methodology for Development of Building Re­Occupancy Guidelines Following Installation of Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation.”

BIOBASED TECHNOL 421
Agrol, BioBased Technologies’ family of nat­ural oil polyols, will be the Fayetteville, Arkansas­based company’s main focus at UTECH North America 2010. Agrol polyols can be used in polyurethane applications including coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers, flexible moulded foam, rigid foam, slabstock foam and spray foam insu­lation.

CANNON GROUP 501
Cannon will be presenting information on its full range of machines and technologies in Houston. Attendees will be able to watch videos giving information on, amongst other products, Cannon’s high­pressure dosing units, low­pressure “B” machines for gasketing, and solutions for continuous and discontinuous production of conventional flexible slabstock and viscoelastic foam. The company will also present information on its dedicated plants for the production of sandwich panels insulated with polyurethane, polyisocyanurate or phenolic rigid, low­density foams.

CHEMTURA CORP. 500
In Houston, Chemtura will present its new Duracast two­component urethane hot­cast system for applications include mining, oil and gas and general industrial applications. The company’s Adiprene and Vibrathane two­component hot­cast systems will also be on show. Other products on show will include Chemtura’s flame retardant prod­ucts.

CHEM­TREND LP 301
Chem­Trend’s range of mould­release agents will be the main focus of the com­pany’s stand in Houston. The Howell, Michigan­based company will be presenting its customised water­based technologies as well as solvent­based low/no VOC (volatile organic compound) emission products for polyurethane moulders.

CHINA NORTH CHEM 302
Chemical engineering specialist China North Chemical Industries (Group) Co. Ltd. said its presentation on TDI (toluene diiso­cyanate) will be the most important aspect of its stand at UTECH North America 2010. The company will be giving information on its TDI facility located in Baiyin, Gansu, China, which has a current production capacity of 50 kilotonnes per annum. An expansion project which will boost TDI out­put to 150 ktpa is under construction, and scheduled to be completed in 2010.

CON­TEK MACHINE 403
As a specialist in “engineered­to­order” polyurethane foaming fixtures, Con­Tek Machine Inc. will be exhibiting photograph­ic and video examples of its range of equipment designs for the appliance indus­try, food service equipment, and insulated panels and doors.

COIM USA INC. 200
Aliphatic and aromatic polyester polyols will be the focus of COIM’s UTECH stand in Houston. The company will present its expanded Diexter aliphatic polyester polyol portfolio, with both standard glycol adipates and speciality bespoke grades, as well as its full line of conventional and low­free monomer prepolymers. Coim’s expanded Isoexter aromatic polyester polyol products for rigid foam applications such as board­stock, pour­in­place and rigid bunstock will also be on show.

CRAY VALLEY USA 210
UTECH North America 2010 will be the first time newly created subsidiary Cray Valley USA llc – the Hydrocarbon Specialty Chemicals division of Sartomer and sister company Cray Valley Resins —has exhibited under its new business structure. The com­pany will present its Poly bd and Krasol product lines, previously marketed under the Sartomer name, as well as its full polyurethane product portfolio, including polyol­based polybutadienes and poly­olefins.

EMERY OLEOCHEMS 110
Emery Oleochemicals llc is using UTECH North America 2010 to launch three new natural oil­based polyols for polyurethane foams and coatings. A joint venture of Thailand­based PTT Chemical International Pte Ltd and Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd, the company will present biobased polyols for rigid PU foams, for flexible PU foams and for PU coatings. At the CPI Technical Conference Emery will also pres­ent the paper: “Novel Biobased Polyols from Natural, Renewable Raw Materials for Use in Polyurethane Foams and Coatings.”

EDGE­SWEETS 407
Grand Rapids, Michigan­based Esco (Edge Sweets Co.) believes listening to customers’ needs and requirements will be the most important aspect of its stand in Houston. The company will present new profile equipment and automated cutting equip­ment, as well as other products including its blocking saw, foam crusher, automatic vertical band saw, block mould system and water jet cutter.

FECKEN­KIRFEL 602
The fully automatic bandknife splitting machine, H32 Loop, will be the focus of the Fecken­Kirfel stand at UTECH North America 2010. The company says the machine is designed to meet the demand for accurate automated processing of long buns of PU foam into roll goods.

The company will be highlighting the benefits of its non­ODP (ozone depleting potential), non­GWP (global warming potential), non­VOC (volatile organic com­pound) ecomate blowing agent for polyurethane foam, as well as other types of products used with ecomate. The com­pany will present the paper: “Long Term Aging of Closed­Celled Foam Insulation.”

A specialist in polyurethane processing equipment, Minneapolis, Minnesota­based Graco will be presenting its HFR Metering System in Houston. The system is designed for dispensing two­component materials, including polyurethane foam, polyurethane elastomers, epoxies, silicones and polyureas.

Chinese company G’sal will present new products in Houston, including phosphate flame retardants TCPP (tris(2­chloropropyl) phosphate), TDCPP (tris(2,3­dichloro­propyl) phosphate), TCEP (tris(2­chloroethyl) phosphate), TPP (triphenyl phosphate), and APP (ammonium polyphosphate). G’sal is a part of the Oceanchem Group based in Weifang Ocean Chemical High­tech Development Zone.

Hainan sees its competitive products and company image as the most important aspect of its exhibit at UTECH North America 2010. The company is a specialist in inorganic and organic chemicals, addi­tives, dyes, pigments and polyurethane dec­orative mouldings.

New developments in mixing and metering will be the focus of Hi­Tech Engineering’s stand in Houston. The company will pres­ent mixing technology with external recirculation that it says allows high temperature process with lower pressures. As well as giving information on its turnkey installa­tions and laboratory and prototyping work for research programmes, the company will also be showcasing its RIM (reaction injec­tion moulding) machine for high­tempera­ture processing.

At UTECH North America 2010, blowing agent supplier Honeywell International will focus on promoting new products and its customer support services. During the adja­cent CPI Technical Conference, Honeywell will present the papers: “Evaluation of LGWP Blowing Agent in PIP Panel Application”, “Low Climate Change Impact Solution: Household Refrigerators/ Freezers”, “Monitoring of HFC­245fa Exposure in Spray Foam Applications”, and “Continuing the Study of Next Generation (LGWP) of Blowing Agents for Spray Foam Applications.”

H&S ANLAGENTECH. 510
H&S Anlagentechnik GmbH will focus on its polyurethane recycling activities at UTECH North America 2010. Along with its com­plete portfolio of tank systems, blending systems and reactor technology, the com­pany will present new reactors for chemical recovery of polyol from polyurethane residues. H&S will also present a paper at the CPI Technical Conference: “In­House Production Of Aromatic Polyester Polyols And Their Use To Improve The Flame Retardant Properties Of Rigid Foams.”

ICL­IP 709
ICL­IP’s stand in Houston will focus on the company’s range of flame­retardant prod­ucts for the PU industry, with particular focus on new products. ICL will present details of its newest halogen and halogen­free flame retardants for rigid PU, PIR (polyisocyanurate) and for flexible foam. These include SaFRon 6605 for spray polyurethane and SaFRon 7700 for flexible foam.

Chemical additives specialist King Industries Inc will present a range of catalysts for the PU industry in Houston. Products on show include the company’s K­KAT XK­620 non­tin liquid catalyst for cathodic electrical applications.

New York­based Kracht Corp. will be focus­ing on its range of special pumps, flow meters and micro controllers for the polyurethane industry at UTECH North America 2010. The company will be pre­senting its new screw­type flow meters, as well as existing products including transfer gear pumps with magnetic coupling valves and coated transfer gear pumps.

KRAL­USA INC. 404
Pumps with magnetic couplings will be the main focus of KRAL’s stand at UTECH North America 2010. The company will be pre­senting a range of products for the PU industry and will have representatives avail­able to meet customers.

Portuguese polyurethane machinery spe­cialist Maquinol Joao Oliveira will be pre­senting the environmental and economical benefits of producing polyurethane foam with its Uniblock Machine at UTECH North America 2010. The Estarreja, Portugal­based company will also present its other range of equipment for the PU industry.

A specialist in automated mix, meter and dispensing machines, Max Process Equipment will present the latest develop­ments in its polyurethane processing equip­ment in Houston. The company will give information on its tailor­made solutions for the polyurethane industry and its customer service activities.

Mettler Toledo, a specialist in precision instruments, offers laboratory solutions for use in the quality control of polyurethane precursors as well as finished polyurethane products. New technology on show in Houston will include LiquiPhysics Excellence, One Click Weighing Solutions, as well as One Click Titration, One Click Water Determination and thermal analysis.

MILLIKEN 203
Milliken & Co. will present its range of poly­meric colourants, recently added to its port­folio from its acquisition of Rebus. The South Carolina­based company will show its Reactint colourants and DispersiTech pig­ment dispersions and additives, which are compatible with resin systems including polyurethanes, polyesters, epoxies, polyureas and plasticisers. Milliken will present a paper on one of its antioxidant products at the CPI Technical Conference.

IMPIANTI OMS SPA 405
The most important aspect of the OMS stand in Houston will be the company’s new high­pressure mixing head Y2K 6/10 for continuous panel production and its low­pressure mixing head ULTMIX C2 for micro dosing. OMS will also present posters and videos showing its developments in the production of insulating sandwich pan­els.

QUIMICA PUMEX 412
In Houston this year, Pumex, a developer of tailor­made polyurethane systems, will focus on its newly developed technologies based on alternative blowing agents and fully customised solutions. The company will also present its polyether polyol line and re­engineered polyester polyol line. New products on show include water­blown systems for “greener” applications, methyl formate blown systems, high func­tionality sucrose polyols for rigid foams and adipate­based polyester polyols for speciali­ty spray foam applications.

RED SPOT PAINT & VARNISH 712
A supplier of in­mould coating technologies for polyurethane substrates, Red Spot Paint will be showcasing a range of new products to exhibition attendees in Houston. New products include “soft­feel” in­mould coat­ings, as well as a range of colours and effects that can be used over polyurethane in different applications. The company will also highlight its in­mould coating technolo­gies by presenting in­mould painted polyurethane parts for automotive and nonautomotive applications.

REAXIS 605
McDonald, Pennsylvania­based Reaxis Inc. will be presenting catalysts for CASE (coat­ings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers) appli­cations at UTECH North America 2010. New products on show will include a new water­soluble catalyst for two­component water­borne polyurethane coatings, a topic on which the company will also present a paper at the CPI Technical Conference.

REPI LLC 508
At this year’s UTECH show, Repi will be presenting new pigment dispersions based on carriers derived from renewable resources, phthalate­free liquid colour dispersions, REACH­compliant colour disper­sions based on phthalate plasticisers, and high concentration black liquid dispersions. Other new products on display from the Charlotte, North Carolina­based company will include liquid blends of antioxidant, UV (ultra violet), heat and light stabilisers and UV­resistant liquid whites and colours.

RESPECTA 106
Automated processing technology for blending high­filler loadings into polyurethane systems will be the most important aspect of Respecta Maschinenbau GmbH’s stand at UTECH North America 2010. The German company will also present its continuously cast low­density polyurethane mixtures, which can be used for thermal insulation elements in offshore applications, the company says. Established in 1969, Respecta has installed more than 100 plants in North America in the past 30 years.

SILTECH 101
Siltech Corp.’s surfactants for the polyurethane foam industry will be the main focus of the company’s stand at UTECH North America 2010. The Toronto, Ontario­based company will also present reactive and modified silicones designed to modify resins and enhance performance of formulated products for CASE uses.

SHANDONG BLUESTAR DONGDA 604
Chinese company Shandong Bluestar Dongda and its parent company China National Chemical Corp., will use the Houston event to introduce its range of polyether polyols to the American and European polyurethane industries. The company will also be giving information on an RMB 6 million ($886 000) expansion in its polyether polyol capacity in the Hi­Tech Industrial Zone, Zibo City, Shandong, China.

SABA N. AMERICA 506
SABA North America, based in Michigan, will be present its wide range of water­based foam bonding adhesives. Two recent­ly introduced products, SABA Aquabond 3801 and SABA Softbond 3511, will be the main focus of the company stand in Houston. The company will also present its new adhesive delivery system, the SABA Access System (see pic above).

SILCART 415
European producer of tailor­made flexible facings Silcart will be introducing itself to US panel producers at UTECH North America 2010. New products on show include Silcart bituminous, mineral and synthetic facings for expanded polyurethane panels. Silcart’s Glass Xtreme fibre­glass based facings will be a focal point of the company's stand in Houston.

SIMALFA 402
Hawthorne, New Jersey­based SIMALFA Adhesives will be presenting its Cost Monitoring System at UTECH North America 2010. The adhesive specialist will also showcase SIMALFA 335UV, which when sprayed under a black light will allow operators to better see the adhesive, there­by allowing the operator to apply a minimal amount of adhesive to maximise yield and savings.

STATE MIX LTD 420
State Mix is a manufacturer of dispensers, mixers, ovens and custom automation equipment used in the polyurethane indus­try. At UTECH North America 2010, the company will be presenting its Vortex line of Dual Axis Centrifugal Mixers. The product line has been expanded to include the VM­200, VM­1000 and VM­2500. The company will also show video footage and live demonstrations of mixing difficult materials, powders and filled materials.

SUN YANG GLOBAL 109

Sun Yang is a supplier of TPU (thermoplas­tic polyurethane) to the PU industry. New products on show in Houston from the company include TPU hot­melt adhesive for shoe counter and shoe toe, TPU shoe adhesive, TPU ink and solvent­based TPU. The company says it wants to promote its products in the global market at UTECH North America 2010.

A supplier of curing agents for polyurethane elastomers, Suzhou Xiangyuan Special Fine Chemical Co. Ltd will be showing UTECH attendees its range of chain extenders, including MOCA, HQEE, HER, MCDEA and XYLink604.

The Shepherd Chemical Co. will be focus­ing on its range of polyurethane catalysts for CASE applications at the Houston show. The Norwood, Ohio­based company will also present BiCAT 4130M – its new zirconi­um­based catalyst for isocyanate reactions.

Tosoh Specialty Chemicals USA’s TEDA and Toyocat polyurethane catalysts will be the focus of the company’s stand at this year’s show. The Alpharetta, Georgia­based com­pany will present two papers at the CPI Technical Conference: “Novel Gelling Catalysts for Non­Emission Flexible Polyurethane Foam”, and “Novel Catalytic Additive for Water Blown Spray Polyurethane Foam.

The compa­ny will present its fifth­generation Soyol polyol and will also present a paper at the CPI Technical Conference: “Processing and Performance comparison of Soybean oil based polyol in Flexible Foam application.

Vertec, a business unit of Johnson Matthey Catalysts, will be highlighting its range of SNAPCURE mercury replacement catalysts for polyurethane elastomers at UTECH North America 2010. Vertec, established in the 1960s, is a global manufacturer of organic titanates and zirconates.

VERTELLUS SPECIALTY MATERIALS 317
The main focus of the Vertellus stand in Houston will be the company’s NOPs (nat­ural oil polyols) basted on castor oil for applications in polyurethane foams, coat­ings and adhesives. New products on show will include Polycin GR and Polycin DCA castor­oil based polyols. Vertellus will also present its Coscat 8330R bismuth­zinc organometallic catalyst as an alternative to mercury­and tin­based catalysts.

ZHEJIANG WANSHENG CHEMICAL 411

Chinese company Zhejiang Wansheng Chemical will be introducing its range of flame retardants to visitors at UTECH North America 2010. New products on show will include flame retardant WSFR­690 anti­scorching polyurethane flame retardant for flexible foam and WSFR­504L low­fogging polyurethane flame retardant, also for flexi­ble foam.

YANTAI WANHUA 400

Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes Co. Ltd will showcase new product ranges to customers in Houston, including its series of HDI (hexamethylene diisocyanate) products; environmentally friendly polyurethane coat­ings, including PU dispersions and PU/acrylic dispersions; as well as its Wanthane TPU series of aliphatic TPUs, polycaprolactone­based TPU and polycar­bonate­based TPU. Yantai will present four papers at the CPI Technical Conference.
